Morella (Myrica) californica (Pacific Wax Myrtle) (1 gal)

$12.00
Sold Out (Use Waitlist)

One of our few broadleaved evergreen native shrubs for sunny sites, Pacific Wax Myrtle is beloved for its landscape value, easily creating a privacy screen or as a backbone species in a hedgerow!

A native inhabitant of marine habitat edges throughout our region, this tall, glossy-evergreen and lightly-fragrant shrub also fixes nitrogen in the soil, making it valuable for restoration.  Slow growing its first year or so, it quickly takes off with a little love to become a drought-tolerant, easy-care feature or as a habitat-enticing mixed-species hedgerow with other native shrubs such as Oceanspray and Serviceberry.

It reaches 10-25 ft. over time, but can be hedged to maintain lower heights. Plant in full to part sun; it is adapted to various soil conditions.
