Join our eco-educators in an informal botanical walk through a South Salish lowland forest and riparian ecosystem. Our eco-educators will share identification tips and other information about a variety of native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants as we enjoy a lovely evening botanizing together.
Location: McLane Creek Nature Trail (accessed from Delphi Rd. SW, Olympia).
About the site: This nature spot is within Capitol Forest; as such, you will need a Discover Pass to park. There are multiple trails on the site, and a public restroom is available.
Difficulty & Logistics: The walk is relatively easy with little to no elevation gain and may include portions on a boardwalk, depending on the plan of your group’s instructors. Some group leaders will aim to complete their walk in about one hour, while others may walk for 1.5-2 hours. You can choose the group you prefer.
Date: Wednesday, June 17th, 2026
Time: 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
Check in: Arrive between 5:30 p.m. and 5:55 p.m. so we can get everyone checked in and ready to begin the walks by 6:00 p.m.
Registered participants should look for an email from us (several days prior to the class) with all the other important details for planning for the class (including directions)! Please be sure we have your correct email & that you put this event in your calendar upon registration. Thank you!
Tickets are available by donation, with suggested donation levels provided, so you can select the option that works best for you.
