Excursion - South Salish Prairie - Saturday 6/14

from $20.00

Explore a section of South Salish Prairie to identify the many native perennial and annual flowers, grasses, trees and shrubs (and maybe a few lichens!). Spring on our local prairies is spectacular, with an ever-changing bloom cycle, and we are timing this Excursion to capture the blooms of many special species. We will provide a detailed plant list, further reading recommendations, and laminated learning materials.

Difficulty & logistics: We will divide into small learning groups led by one of our eco-instructors and walk a flat trail (~2 miles) very slowly! The site is ~13 miles south of Olympia. Thank you to our partners at Wolf Haven for hosting.

Saturday, June 14th, 1:30 to 4:30 p.m. (check-in 1:00-1:25 p.m.)

If this is sold out, join the Waitlist - as we add leaders, we can add additional tickets!

Scholarships: If you need to apply for a free ticket, please send us your information here and we will reach out to confirm your slot. We also offer a $5 Student/AmeriCorps price! If you’d like to support an additional slot to be offered as a scholarship, we invite you to purchase a “Pay it Forward” registration.

Safety & Documentation:

  1. Liability Waivers: We will also have waivers available at check in, but you can save time by printing your own and completing it in advance. You can access our waiver here.

  2. If you are under 18, you will need to have a parent/guardian signature on our liability waiver in order to participate - if you’re being dropped off, please ensure that is done before your guardian departs!
