Lomatium nudicaule (Bare-stemmed Biscuit-root) 1-gal.

$15.00

Enhance your home prairie or prairie-like landscape with this rarely found native biscuitroot/desert-parsley! Lomatiums are signature plants of our South Salish prairies, and this species is one of the more rarely found species on the prairies, and especially difficult to find to enhance a home prairie landscape!

While most biscuitroots have frilly leaves, Lomatium nudicaule has distinctively bluish paddle-like leaves, making it stand out as it emerges from native grasslands, and which will be equally striking with whatever it’s paired with in your home landscape.

This sun-loving carrot-family perennial is terrific paired with other prairie perennials or plants that mimic them. For a full season of bloom, consider planting with both early and late bloomers, such as native Common Camas, Erigerons, Echinaceas, Brodiaea, Yarrows, and Penstemons. Add native bunch grasses or dwarf water-wise grasses to mimic the native prairie landscape.

Lomatium nudicaule blooms just a bit later than the more commonly seen Lomatium utriculatum, but still early enough to serve as a critical early pollinator species!

Plant in well-drained soils and full sun.
