This PNW native buttercup is an early-blooming perennial, making it an early nectar source to draw in beneficial insects. Western buttercup prefers well-drained soils and grows in full sun. Its stems grow to 6" to over a foot tall and have wedge-like, three lobed lower leaves. Bright yellow flowers are produced from March through July/August. Mix them with other native South Salish Prairie species such as Camas and Erigerons for excellent effect and to extend the cycle of pollinator support!
