One of our native strawberry species that is prized for its evergreen leaves and aggressive spread by runners, making it an ideal groundcover in full-sun situations, and especially great in areas that receive infrequent maintenance, such a street-tree plantings and septic drainfields where deep-rooted plants are not appropriate.

Its dark green leaves are leathery (evergreen), and highlight its bright-white flowers - April-June - and its bright-red tasty berries.

It grows in many settings, as long as it has good drainage and lots of sun!
