A PNW favorite with beautiful pink, heart-shaped flowers atop blue- green ferny foliage, which spreads into a spring carpet reaching 6-12 high and at least as wide. The flowers provide early nectar to hummingbirds and other pollinators.

Pair it with ferns and other woodland perennials, such as Wild Ginger, the Maianthemum species, and Inside-out Flower.

Western Bleeding-heart is best in part shade and is drought tolerant once established.
