Aruncus dioicus (Goat's Beard)

This is a dramatic herbaceous perennial that can grows 3-6ft tall. Mix it in your native/water-wise woodland landscape to brighten your shady spots in summer. Nicely paired with Evergreen Huckleberry and the ornamental grass Chasmanthium latifolia, plus other shade-loving perennials.

It has dark green foliage and long feathery clusters of white flowers that bloom from late May through July. Male and female flowers occur on separate plants and offer some variation in appearance!

Best in partial to full shade and in rich, moist soils.
