Arbutus unedo 'Compacta' (Dwarf Strawberry tree)

$0.00

The shrub or compact form of Strawberry Tree is a relative of our native Pacific Madrone, but much smaller and easier to grow! Offering 4 seasons of beauty in every regard: glossy evergreen foliage, clusters of bell-shaped flowers that turn to large, bright orange-red fruits, and striking mahogany bark! Flowers bloom from October to December, with fruits that persist for many months, offering forage for birds. A wonderful backbone of a drought-tolerant hedgerow; over time you can prune shrubs to accentuate the sculptural qualities of the branching and bark and add understory plants below. Typical growth about 6 ft. x 6 ft., reaching up to 10 ft. over time. Best in full sun. A Great Plant Pick!
