After over 25 years at our west Olympia location, our nursery is moving. This move is a huge undertaking for our foundation, and we will need all the help we can get!
The new nursery site is a family farm in the Littlerock area on Gifford Road Southwest, about a 10-12 mile drive from our current location. We are grateful to the Washington State Department of Transportation for graciously hosting our nursery operations on their site for so long, but they no longer have space for us.
On Sunday, November 9, we will host our second of two moving events. We will focus on moving infrastructure & supplies, while also continuing with moving native plants. There will be a variety of tasks available for people of all abilities.
We will especially need 4-6 volunteers with trucks or utility trailers to help transport supplies, and we are happy to reimburse for mileage if desired.
We also need 5-10 people to load tools and supplies (such as plant pots, tents, carts, buckets etc.) onto vehicles at the current nursery location and unload them at the new site. We can vanpool people from the current location to the new site to help with the unloading. You can also meet us at the new location if it is more convenient for you.
Lastly, we will need a traffic manager to coordinate the movement of vehicles. This role will require less physical strength but strong communication skills.
If you’re available for the morning or afternoon shift (or both), please register below. We appreciate any time that you’re willing to offer!
