McLane Creek Trail Maintenance

Join the Native Plant Salvage Foundation in stewarding the beautiful McLane Creek Nature Trail in service to the Department of Natural Resources, with a goal of ensuring accessible trails while also keeping the habitat value high.

Spend a few hours maintaining the vegetation along the trails while appreciating the diversity in this wonderful example of a South Salish lowland forest and riparian ecosystem. We mindfully trim back vegetative growth along the trail lightly but frequently, thereby maintaining access for trail users while minimizing our impact on the plants and wildlife that depend on them.

We casually botanize as we work, giving participants a chance to learn more and exercise their plant knowledge in the company of other plant-loving volunteers and experienced plant educators.
