During our salvages, volunteers save small native trees, shrubs, and herbaceous plants from local areas scheduled for clearing. NPS Salvages are a great way to practice plant identification and meet fellow plant nerds!

Some dates are still up in the air, but we’ve listed the weekends we plan on salvaging and will update those dates soon.

A few important things to note:

• Salvage location can change by event — pay attention to the address and map links.

• These are rain or shine or snow or sleet events: dress accordingly!

• All events occur in two parts: first at the salvage site and second at our plant nursery. If you’d like to salvage plants for yourself as well, we ask that you volunteer some time at the afternoon nursery work party.

• NPS will provide gloves, tools, and snacks.

• Come when you can and stay as long as you’d like!
