Rubus parviflorus - Thimbleberry

Rubus parviflorus - Thimbleberry

from 5.00

Full sun to shade, Deciduous shrub, 1.5-6 ft, spreading over time. Thimbleberry is our native raspberry, and is unique in its genus for lacking prickles. It is easily recognizable with its large, fuzzy maple-shaped leaves and bright white flowers in early summer. Late-summer red fruits are usually sweet and detach in the shape of a thimble — thus its common name. It produces thickets of cane-like stems that can reach over 8 feet tall, but are generally seen around 4 to 6 feet.
