Rosa gymnocarpa/ Bald hip rose

Rosa gymnocarpa/ Bald hip rose

from 5.00

The bald-hip rose is the most delicate of our region’s three wild roses. It has the smallest buds, needle-like prickles, and delicate stems. It spreads slowly and makes very sparse thickets. It generally is not higher than about 5 or 6 feet in height, with a few occasional long branches.  Typically found as an understory shrub, the lovely pink flowers are a great attraction for pollinators."
